Happy OCTOBER UTTSA-ers!
We hope you are doing well on all your midterms for those who are still in school, or enjoying your job (or job searching) for all grads :)
Happy late Thanksgiving and early Halloween!
Few things:
1. Small dinner gathering on October 29 (Pre-Halloween)
2. Potluck on November 12
3. Fundraising for Flood in Thailand (Thai food serve on campus)
4. Defensive Training for Women (November 26)
1. Small dinner gathering
There will be a small gathering on OCTOBER 29, just chit-chat dinner to catch up on all of you! Just because we miss you very much so COME OUT AND EAT WITH US! Take a break from study and come chill! The location is currently unknown but please vote in the link if you have anything in mind! :) or most likely will ended up at the bowl or korean grill again (yes i know, rather repetitive eh!) and to spice things up we will have the theme for the dinner :P
2. POTLUCK IS SET TO BE ON NOVEMBER 12
Yes! it is that time of the year when you can finally show your cooking (or baking) skills! As winter is approaching, nothing is better than HUGE variety of thai food and enjoying each other’s company so pick up your TA-LEW and start cooking! (hopefully practice makes perfect). It will be held in the same place as before Cumberland House on St. George. This is just a heads up so PLEASE start thinking of what you would like to bring. More information will be send out regarding this as we came closer to the event but just MARK THE DATE! :)
3. Flood in Thailand
As most of you already know, many areas in Thailand is now suffering from flood and we want to help! As a Thai people, we are responsible for helping other who are suffering, we are fortunate enough to be here and so why don’t we GIVE BACK right! We will be contacting Thai restaurant around the area for food, and we we be selling them on campus and send all the money we get to Thailand to help people suffering from flood. If you’re willing to help, please email Pat and she will let you know more information on how you can help. Let’s TUM-BOON together so we can be together again in the next life :)

4. Defensive training for Women
ACAS is very generous to offer us the Defensive Training workshop for Women. As you may know, Toronto might not be the safest place in the world in nighttime so we would like to invite you to come out to our training session. Precaution is always good and remember, preparation is always the best thing you can do to prevent bad things from happening. If you’re interested in coming, please email sviddayakorn[at]gmail[dot]com but more information will be posted on facebook between now and then.

UNICEF U of T International Food Fair

Location — Centre for International Experience, 33 St George Street
We at UNICEF U of T are excited to let you know that we’ll soon be holding our second annual international food fair! Last year we held our first food fair to raise money for the Spread the Net campaign, and we raised over $1200. This year we hope to raise even more for UNICEF Canada’s campaign to end global hunger. With the help of fellow UT student groups and local restaurants and businesses, we’ll be serving up delicious international food for you to enjoy on Wednesday March 9th from 11am-2pm at the CIE!
Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door. All proceeds will go to UNICEF Canada. You’ll be able to buy tickets in advance at the following times:
Friday, March 4 at the Buttery in Larkin (1-3PM)
Monday, March 7 at the Buttery in Larkin (2-4PM)
Tuesday, March 8 at Gerstein (9-11AM)
Come out to enjoy a great lunch, learn about international cultures, and support a fantastic cause! We hope to see you there!

Welcome back and hope you all had a great winter break! To start off the new year, we are throwing a chill out/dinner night on Sunday Jan 16 @ Cafe Crepe. This café is famous of its specialties in Parisian sweet & savoury crêpes. They also serve other food such as burgers and fries. So everyone is welcome to have dinner before hand or have dinner there =)

Finally Halloween Month is HERE!
We glad you all survive first month back from summer and be ready for OCTOBER!!!
Few things we just wanna let you know
1. HEADS UP FOR POTLUCK
This is early notice that Potluck is coming and the date has been finalized (thank you to those who participate in voting on doodle, awesome guys!). This year FALL POTLUCK will be held on NOVEMBER 6, 2010. For newbies, potluck is an event where you get to show your cooking skills and share it is UTTSA buds. Thai food is preferable but hey! if you cannot bare the spicy-ness of the food then you can also bring other dishes. At some point in time please reply to ME (satita.viddayakorn[at]utoronto.ca) and not the group what dish or specialty you would like to bring in this format

2. Nuit Blanche on OCTOBER 2!
Nuit Blanche is a celebration of contemporary arts. If you like art, go ventured out onto the city’s street for this all-night exploration.

3. Thanks Giving is next week
Next week, October the 8 will be thanks giving. For those who are still in school, you will get MONDAY OFF (Monday October 4th).

Welcome all new Thai students to University of Toronto! and welcome back current students =) We hope you all had a fantastic summer.
This year orientation will be taking place at Toronto Island same as last year. However, it’s going to be much more fun and crazy than ever. Lots of fun activities for freshmen and current members to get to know one another. It’s going to be a great experience for you all so be ready guys =) You don’t wanna miss it.
We are going to meet at the U of T entrance 11 am SHARP!! Please be there on time. We are only going to wait 10 mins for whoever comes late, otherwise we will leave without you. Just in case of an emergency, especially for freshmen, please contact Memie or Tin to notify that you will be running late.

- Money: $4 (discount)/ $6.50 (regular) for ferry rides back/forth
- T-card: discount for ferry ride

UTTSA 2010-11 Executives Election:

- The deadline for applying is March 19th, 2010

- President (open to current 2nd and 3rd year students) *

- Coordinators (2 positions available please form a team of 2 to apply)

- (*) Please note that only full time students at the University of Toronto from August 2010 to April 2011 are allowed to run for the posts of president and vice-president.
Up coming UTTSA potluck! ~ “PRIME TIME POTLUCK” – Saturday April 3rd
- Please RSVP with us as soon as possible if you will be able to come!
- Start thinking about what dishes you would like to bring!
- There will be an awesome prize worth $ 100 from Indigo/Chapters and of course this comes along with great fun and games
- There will be a ticket fee for non members or any extra guests (minimal of $ 2 as donation)
- Note: We “assumed” the date to be April 3rd, but if majority thinks a week before that or some other dates works better, please do let us know ASAP so we can book the room. Place will most likely be our beloved ISC (Cumberland house on St George St), but the room is TBA.
